here we go again

a brief introduction: my name is marguerite happe. I think most uppercase letters are fairly ugly, I love Oscar Wilde, tea with milk in it, and burberry perfume. i have blogs coming out my ears, since I also have a personal Tumblr and blog for CollegeFashionista and the Star Tribune.

I am adventuring in Ireland this year (HOW LUCKY AM I?) and I want to remember every second, as I become more positive every day that this is a once in a lifetime experience. So feel free to follow along as I explore Ireland and hopefully various other parts of Europe.

Most kids study abroad only for a semester, or a summer program for two weeks or so. I will be at the University of Limerick for the academic year…that’s right, year. Which now that I’m here, I am realizing that that is a pretty long time. I still fully believe that I made the right decision though. I wanted more time to explore, and I also wanted to live in Ireland, not just visit. I’ve always wanted to live abroad, and not many people have the chance to do that— so I seized it as soon as I had the chance to! I’m beyond excited to see new things every day and come out at the end of this as a changed person.

This is my personal abroad blog—as I mentioned previously, I will be blogging about my experiences for the Star Tribune’s College Student Abroad Blog. Unfortunately, the guidelines for that dictate that it should be more professional/no feelings. And I’m awful at writing without any feeling…so this is my outlet for the mental/physiological side of my travels rather than the details of the hostel I’m staying at. If you do happen to be interested in those details, feel free to hop on over to the Star Tribune—that blog should be up soon!

“I’ve always believed one could live many lives through the way we dress and the places we travel to, even if just in our imagination. The world is open to us, and each day is an occasion to reinvent ourselves.” -Ralph Lauren
